Job Description
As a part-time Bookkeeper (8 hours per week in person), you will support the financial stewardship of our mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering women survivors of trauma to build lives of purpose, dignity, and independence. Working alongside the Financial Manager, you’ll help maintain accurate, organized financial records that ensure transparency and accountability for the community we serve. Your work will directly support the programs and our social enterprise—Hon’s Honey—which provides meaningful employment, holistic support, and a path toward healing and self-sufficiency for women in Baltimore.
Responsibilities
Schedule: 1 full day per week (in person) during working hours

Responsibilities
- Assists with recording transactions in the accounting system weekly
- Tracks missing receipts and follows up with staff promptly
- Assists with ACH monitoring and positive pay daily
- Makes bank deposits weekly (in-person or mobile deposit)
- Processes invoices and bill payments weekly
- Prepares checks for signature and mails vendor checks weekly
- Reconciles bank accounts monthly
- Reconciles credit card expenses monthly
- Sends missing receipts report to key staff members monthly
- Reconciles donations in donor system and accounting system monthly
- Assists with monthly and year-end financial reports
- Assists internal staff as needed with financial inquiries
- Assists with bi-weekly payroll processing as needed
- Assists with audit requests
- All other duties as assigned by the Financial Manager
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Passion for social impact and empowering women survivors.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace; experience with QuickBooks preferred.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 2 or more years of experience in bookkeeping/business (non-profit experience preferred but not required)
