Purpose of Job:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by employing security strategies and protocols for the safety of our employees, patients, visitors, and assets as follows:
Education/Experience: Ability to compassionately interact with a variety of individuals, including those experiencing mental health challenges, substance use, and homelessness required. Microsoft Office skills required. IAHSS Basic Level Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required. Mental Health First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire required. IAHSS Advanced Certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire required. AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention and De-Escalation Certification or ability to obtain within one hear of hire required.
Skills: Ability to reason and exercise appropriate and professional judgement under pressure and/or in escalated and unexpected situations required. Adaptability and flexibility required. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills required. BLS (CPR/AED) required. Valid driver’s license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.
Physical Demands
Must be 18 years of age or older. Must regularly move around the facility and be able to sit, stand, and be mobile. Using hands and reaching with arms occurs over two-thirds of the day. Regularly required to climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Regularly required to communicate by talking/hearing. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Purpose of Job:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by employing security strategies and protocols for the safety of our employees, patients, visitors, and assets as follows:
- Ensures that appropriate rules, regulations, and procedures are being observed and that CHAS Health locations and properties provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains safety and security by monitoring all general access areas and the surrounding premise.
- Travels to all CHAS Health locations and works varying hours, based on coverage needs.
- Uses verbal skills to de-escalate disruptive situations involving CHAS Health visitors, the public, and staff.
- Appropriately escalates/refers situations to the appropriate agency.
- Provides relevant safety awareness for visitors and staff.
- Utilizes security surveillance systems to identify problem individuals on or adjacent to CHAS Health properties.
- Provides on-call coverage as needed for nights and weekends.
- Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
