Safety Officer

The Safety Officer II is a mid-level safety professional responsible for monitoring workplace safety, enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting inspections, and providing training. This role assists in hazard identification, incident investigation, and implementation of corrective actions to support a safe working environment.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.

Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) laws, regulations, and company policies.

Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; assist in preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.

Deliver safety orientations, briefings, and training sessions.

Maintain updated records of safety audits, permits, incidents, and employee training.

Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure readiness.

Assist in emergency response drills and implementation of safety protocols.

Recommend and monitor the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Coordinate with supervisors and employees on resolving safety issues.

Support continuous improvement of the companys health and safety programs.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Completion of BOSH (Basic Occupational Safety and Health) training (mandatory).

Preferably trained in COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) if working in construction.

Must be accredited by DOLE as a Safety Officer II.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in a safety-related role.

First Aid and Fire Safety training/certifications are a plus.
