Job Description

Primary job title: Cost Analyst (Costing Executive) — On-site, India

Role & Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain detailed product cost sheets and Bill of Materials (BOM) capturing material, labour and overhead components for new and existing SKUs.
Calculate standard costs and unit-level profitability; update cost models for product launches, changes and reworks.
Execute monthly cost variance analysis (standard vs actual), identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to production and procurement teams.
Collaborate with procurement, production, design and quality teams to validate costing inputs, supplier quotes and make cost optimization recommendations.
Maintain cost masters in ERP, support inventory valuation, month-end close processes and ad-hoc pricing/margin analyses for commercial teams.
Produce clear MIS and management reports; support audits, costing documentation and continuous improvement projects to reduce unit cost.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have (Technical skills)

Microsoft Excel (advanced: PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, basic macros)
Bill of Materials (BOM) management
Costing and variance analysis
ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle or equivalent)
MIS reporting and dashboarding
Inventory valuation techniques

Preferred

SQL for data extraction and validation
Power BI or Tableau for interactive dashboards
Exposure to Lean manufacturing / Kaizen cost-reduction initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
2+ years experience in costing, cost accounting or production cost analysis (manufacturing/retail/FMCG preferred).
Comfortable working on-site and collaborating cross-functionally with procurement, production and commercial teams.
