Backend-Focused Full Stack Engineer

Clinerva Health is a privacy-first clinical infrastructure platform designed to address fragmentation in modern healthcare practice. While clinical care remains distributed across independent providers, continuity, structured records, and secure data flow remain limited.

Clinerva is built to bring structure, continuity, and control to clinical workflows through secure, consent-driven systems. The platform enables doctors to manage consultations, prescriptions, patient records, referrals, and follow-up workflows in an organized and scalable manner.

Designed for both teleconsultation and real-world clinical settings, Clinerva emphasizes structured documentation, controlled data access, and real-world usability. Its architecture ensures that patient data is accessed only through governed workflows, enabling continuity of care without compromising privacy.

The long-term vision is to evolve into a connected clinical ecosystem, integrating diagnostics, imaging, and cross-specialty collaboration while preserving professional independence and data security.

This is a full-time remote role for a Backend-Focused Full Stack Engineer.

You will be responsible for designing and building secure, scalable backend systems that power a healthcare platform handling structured clinical data and controlled access workflows.

Responsibilities include:

• designing backend architecture, APIs, and core services
• implementing authentication, authorization, and role-based access systems
• managing structured clinical data and database design
• integrating third-party services (payments, messaging, etc.)
• collaborating with frontend systems for seamless workflows
• deploying and monitoring services on cloud infrastructure

This role requires system-level thinking, not just feature development.

• Strong backend experience in Node.js or Python
• Experience designing secure APIs and scalable backend systems
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL / relational database design
• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) or equivalent cloud platforms
• Understanding of authentication, RBAC, and secure data handling
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React/Next.js)
• Ability to design systems with auditability and controlled data access
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset
