Tester II - Software Testing

Role Description

Experience: 3-5 years

Roles & Responsibilities

Manual Testing

Design, develop, and execute test cases based on functional and business requirements.

Perform regression, smoke, and sanity testing.

Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or similar.

Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

API Testing

Validate RESTful and SOAP APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.

Verify request/response payloads, headers, status codes, and error handling.

Perform functional, integration, and security testing for APIs.

Automate API tests using scripting (optional, if required).

Database Testing

Validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across systems.

Write and execute SQL queries for data verification.

Perform backend testing to ensure proper data flow and storage.

Identify and report discrepancies between UI and database.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.

Hands-on experience in Manual Testing techniques.

Proficiency in API Testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).

Good understanding of HTTP methods, JSON, and XML.

Strong SQL skills for Database Testing.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and documentation skills.
