Job Description

The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective technical management of dredgers and associated marine assests. This includes maintenance planning, compliance and statutory regulations and ensuring optimal vessel performance.

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure equipment Reliability by maintaining propulsion systems, dredge pumps, hydraulic systems etc. in optimal condition.
To ensure Compliance & Regulatory Requirements of ISM Code, MARPOL, class, and flag state regulations.
Balancing preventive maintenance with operational schedules to avoid downtime.
Managing unexpected breakdowns during critical dredging operations.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management.
To ensure availability of critical spares for specialized dredging equipment
Controlling repair and maintenance costs within approved budgets.
Ensuring crew safety during dredging operations and maintenance activities.
Implementing robust emergency preparedness plans.
Alignment of technical maintenance with dredging schedules and operational priorities
Implementing and maintaining Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) and digital tools.
Adopting predictive maintenance technologies for efficiency.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

Degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
Strong knowledge of Marine Engines, Pumps, propulsion systems, and hydraulic systems, PLCs & Automation.
Candidate having Strong knowledge of dredging equipment/operations will be preferred
Familiarity with international maritime regulations and classification society rules.
Good understanding and working knowledge of HSE management systems
