Software Testing intern

About The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Software QA Intern to join our remote-first engineering team. This role offers end-to-end exposure to software quality assurance in a live SaaS product environment.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, and support teams to test features, validate workflows, identify defects, and help deliver reliable releases. This internship is ideal for candidates who want practical QA experience, exposure to automation, and a strong foundation in testing modern web and API-driven systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Create, review, and execute manual test cases for web applications and REST APIs based on business workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, regression, and smoke testing for new features and bug fixes.
• Log, prioritize, and track defects using Linear; clearly reproduce issues and collaborate with developers to validate fixes.
• Assist in building and maintaining automated test scripts using existing frameworks (Selenium/Python or equivalent).
• Conduct API testing using Postman and validate responses, payloads, and error handling.
• Perform basic database validation using SQL queries when required.
• Maintain QA documentation including test cases, test plans, and release checklists.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous quality improvement.

Must-Have

• Selenium
• Postman
• Linear (or similar bug tracking tools)
• Git (basic usage)
• REST API testing concepts
• SQL (basic queries)

• Cypress or Playwright
• Typescript (for test automation)
• Prior exposure to SaaS or web-based business applications
  
  

Additional Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Available for a remote internship based in India, with flexibility to collaborate during IST (GMT+5:30) working hours.
• Internship duration and stipend will be discussed during the interview.
