This role focuses on Anthology Ally, a revolutionary product that makes digital course content more accessible. As the accessibility of digital course content is becoming increasingly important world-wide, institutions must address long-standing and often overbearing challenges. Anthology’s Ally engineering team is responsible for developing industry-leading tools to improve accessibility through inclusivity, sustainability, and automation for all students.
As Software Engineer in Test, Sr I, you’ll focus on providing support for test development and execution against Anthology’s new feature and legacy system releases. You will become an active member of an agile team of developers participating in daily stand-ups, design sessions, code reviews, and sprint demos. You will create and maintain automation frameworks and testing tools. You'll develop the test strategy for features, incorporating the right balance of unit tests, integration/API tests, and UI tests. You will design, implement, and maintain complex testing environments, performing all aspects of verification including functional, regression, load, and system testing as well as documentation. You will guide junior software testing engineers on best practices for manual and automated testing. You’ll be working with AI technology to enhance development efficiency and create exciting new features for our customers. You will work in a Scrum team focused on building functionality for Anthology Ally.

The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- 5-7+ years of experience in QA manual testing and automation
- Strong experience developing test automation for web applications and REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with WebDriver-based automation frameworks, such as WebdriverIO (preferred) and Selenium
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with working knowledge of HTML and CSS; familiarity with Java is a plus
- Solid technical understanding of databases, including the ability to write complex SQL queries
- Basic experience with scripting languages such as Shell or Bash
- Experience working with REST APIs, including JSON and XML payloads
- Familiarity with CI/CD and build environments, including Jenkins, Docker, and Mesos
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Familiarity with working with cloud technologies
- Experience working in a software product company testing a commercial software product
