Senior MEP Engineer (Electrical)

Greetings!

Urgent opening for the position of Senior MEP Engineer (Electrical) for our project in Vyara, Gujarat (Onsite).

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Installation Inspection

• Inspect electrical works such as:
• Cable laying, cable trays & conduits
• Switchgear, panels, transformers & generators
• Lighting systems & power distribution
• Earthing & lightning protection systems
• Fire alarm, ELV & low-voltage systems
• Verify installations as per approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
• Ensure adherence to Project Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITP).

2. Testing & Commissioning Oversight

• Witness and verify:
• Insulation resistance tests
• Continuity tests
• Functional tests
• Pre-energization & energization procedures
• Confirm compliance with NEC / IEC / IS standards and local authority requirements.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
• Review:
• Shop drawings
• Material submittals
• Method statements

4. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with:
• Contractors
• Consultants
• QA/QC teams
• Project management team
• Attend site meetings and support authority inspections.
• Monitor contractor performance and installation quality.

5. Safety Management

• Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety protocols.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective measures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years’ experience
• OR
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 13+ years’ experience
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in hospital projects.
• Strong experience in large-scale projects such as:
• Hospitals
• Commercial complexes
• Industrial facilities
• Infrastructure projects

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics & coordination drawings.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEC, IS or relevant standards.
• Proficiency in quality inspection & electrical testing.
• Excellent documentation, reporting, and coordination skills.
• Leadership capability to supervise teams and contractors.

Tools & Systems Knowledge

• Use of electrical testing equipment:
• Megger
• Multimeter
• Earth tester
• MS Office for reporting & documentation.
• Familiarity with inspection and quality management systems.
