Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead – Mechanical Engineering to lead and mentor a team of engineers in delivering high-quality vehicle systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, people leadership skills, and ownership of project delivery across cost, quality, and timelines. The focus will primarily be on electric two-wheelers and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of mechanical engineers
• Take ownership of team deliverables, quality, and timelines
• Break down project-level requirements into system- and component-level specifications
• Review and guide mechanical designs to ensure engineering standards and best practices are followed
• Plan and manage resources, budgets, and schedules for assigned projects
• Identify risks related to cost, quality, or delivery and escalate proactively
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and external stakeholders
• Support validation activities, including DFMEA, testing, and production readiness
• Ensure proper documentation of designs, learnings, and best practices
• Present technical concepts and project updates to stakeholders when required

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in mechanical design within automotive or EV domains
• Prior experience in leading or mentoring engineers
• Strong understanding of vehicle-level engineering and system integration
• Experience in areas such as chassis, brakes, suspension, plastics, sheet metal, transmission, or vehicle integration
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Creo or similar) and 2D drawings
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA/DFS, and value engineering
• Experience with CAE tools and validation methodologies
• Familiarity with project management processes
• Prior EV or two-wheeler experience is an advantage

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Hands-on engineering and production exposure preferred
• Participation in Formula Student or similar projects is a plus
