Job Summary:

The Safety Officer II is responsible for overseeing and enforcing compliance with occupational health and safety standards on a general construction site. This role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safety policies, leading safety audits and inspections, and ensuring that all site operations are conducted in a safe and legally compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of the projects Construction Safety and Health Program (CSHP).
Ensure compliance with DOLE, OSH, and other applicable safety regulations and standards.
Supervise and coordinate with Safety Officers I and II, providing guidance and mentorship.
Conduct and document daily site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
Lead safety toolbox meetings, orientations, and emergency preparedness drills.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Liaise with site management, contractors, and government bodies on safety-related concerns.
Maintain and submit all required safety documentation and permits.
Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its availability.
Coordinate emergency response procedures and first aid implementation on site.

Qualifications

Must be a Safety Officer III.
Preferably with COSH (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) training.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a safety officer in general construction.
In-depth knowledge of RA 11058 and DO 198-18 (Philippine Occupational Safety and Health Law).
With additional 40 hours safety training related to construction.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
First Aid/CPR certification is an advantage.
