Your Role And Responsibilities

IBM Research India is looking for a talented and highly motivated research scientist to help advance our effort in Agentic AI. The candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research on AI agents, advancing agent evaluation and optimization techniques, developing prototype solutions to real-world problems. In this role you will working closely with top-notch researchers and other IBM business units in a flexible environment.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Ph.D in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Mathematics, or related field * Proven expertise in machine learning and deep learning (e.g., transformers, representation learning, generative models) * Demonstrated research track record (publications in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ACL) * Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow)

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, and statistics, calculus, and optimization * Experience with large language models * Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale experiments * Industry research experience in a corporate or applied research setting
