At Oldham College, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Programme Tutor in English to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support learners aged 16-18 and adults in achieving their GCSE English qualifications.
Are you passionate about shaping the future of learners through the power of English? Do you thrive on helping students gain the confidence and skills they need to succeed beyond the classroom? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Requirements
When you join our college, not only will you benefit from an annual reviewed salary but have access to numerous benefits and facilities:
We embrace and encourage all those who are driven to better themselves, achieve their goals and reach new heights. Excellent resources combined with exceptional tutors and student support means that whatever your ambition, we can help you to achieve it.

We are committed to inclusion which is reflected across our diverse student body. However, we still have work to do to ensure that our talented workforce fully reflects the diversity of our wider community. We encourage all suitably qualified applicants to apply to join our team.
When you apply for a role, we'll ask you for some equality data. Your answers are kept strictly confidential at all times by HR. The data we collect helps us to identify any disproportionate outcomes for applicants and to target our positive actions that will address them.
The role will require you to embed and work to the college’s values; working with Integrity, having Ambition to help our learners succeed and being Inclusive to learners and colleagues alike.
Our ambition is to be “The Best Place to Learn and Work”. We expect a lot from you, so we want ambitious, open minded candidates, who are ready to give their best. But we give a lot in return, from training to pensions, our own benefits package, and one of the best and most helpful group of colleagues you could ever wish to meet.
If your application is successful, your personal data may be used for a pre-employment screening check by a third party as permitted by applicable law. Depending on the vacancy and applicable laws, a pre-employment screening could include, employment history, education and other information (such as media information) that may be necessary for determining your qualifications and suitability for the role.
Oldham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.
Any appointments will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and a check of the DfE Barred List
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation Act 1974. It is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children and vulnerable adults.
NOTE TO EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES: We value the partnerships we have built with our preferred vendors. Oldham College does not accept unsolicited resumes from employment agencies. All resumes submitted by employment agencies directly to any Oldham College employee or hiring manager in any form without a signed Oldham College Employment Agency Agreement on file and search engagement for that position will be deemed unsolicited in nature. No fee will be paid in the event the candidate is subsequently hired as a result of the referral or through other means.
