Purpose of the Role: The Consumer Portfolio Strategy Manager is responsible for defining and managing the right portfolio strategy for the business unit across the total Unilab Group (Philippines and 8 other Asian markets), ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role drives growth for each segment, manages product lifecycle and pricing architecture, and leads the development and execution of the Innovations Roadmap.

Purpose of the Role: The Consumer Portfolio Strategy Manager is responsible for defining and managing the right portfolio strategy for the business unit across the total Unilab Group (Philippines and 8 other Asian markets), ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role drives growth for each segment, manages product lifecycle and pricing architecture, and leads the development and execution of the Innovations Roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Growth
- Determines and decides on the right portfolio mix and roles for each brand within segments across all markets.
- Identifies innovation opportunities that will drive differentiation and growth both mid-term and long-term.
- Develops growth strategies based on category dynamics and lifecycle stages.
- Quantifies size of the prize for segments and identify new growth spaces.
- Defines pricing architecture and manages product lifecycle decisions to optimize profitability across multiple geographies.
- Strategic foresight and scenario planning.
- Innovation process mastery and Stage Gate management.
- Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management.
- Portfolio profitability analysis and decision-making.
- Thought leadership in market trends and consumer insighting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years professional experience in marketing, portfolio management, or strategy roles within Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or over the counter (OTC) Pharmaceuticals industries, a significant portion of which was performed at the regional level.
- Proven track record in managing product lifecycle and driving innovation.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Expertise in pricing architecture and portfolio profitability.
- Excellent collaboration and influencing skills across matrix organizations.
- Familiarity with market research, foresight frameworks, and advanced analytics tools.
- Strong command of commercial fundamentals: Market sizing, competitive analysis, share tracking, pack-price laddering, consumer insights and brand positioning
- Excellent presentation and narrative-building skills (e.g., portfolio reviews, growth strategy decks).
- Strong stakeholder management across cultures and countries
