Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and Laravel / CodeIgniter
  • Implement clean, maintainable code following MVC architecture principles
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs for web and third-party integrations
  • Work closely with frontend teams using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
  • Design and optimize MySQL database schemas, queries, and stored procedures
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues across environments
  • Perform code reviews and ensure best coding standards and practices
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Implement and maintain web security best practices (authentication, authorization, data protection)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, QA, and project managers

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in PHP development
  • Hands-on expertise with Laravel and/or CodeIgniter frameworks
  • Solid understanding of MVC architecture and backend design patterns
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Proficiency in MySQL and database optimization techniques
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Knowledge of web security practices (OWASP, encryption, secure authentication)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with other PHP frameworks or CMS platforms
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
  • Exposure to cloud hosting or deployment environments
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
