Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Purchaser to manage procurement of civil works, structural fabrication, piping, roofing, manufacturing shop development, material handling capital items. The role involves technical and commercial evaluation, vendor development, contract negotiation, and coordination with project/engineering teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute procurement activities for civil, mechanical contracts in line with project schedules.
Source and develop qualified vendors/contractors for civil construction, fabrication, piping, roofing, shop development, E&I contracts, and capital equipment.
Float RFQs, carry out techno-commercial bid evaluation, and finalize suppliers.
Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, payment terms, warranties, and service agreements.
Procure:

Civil & Structural: cement, steel, aggregates, roofing sheets, structural steel.
Mechanical: plates, pipes, beams, welding consumables, shop machinery.
Capital Items: cranes, scissor Lifts, forklifts, and material handling systems.

Coordinate with project, site, and engineering teams for approvals, inspections, and delivery.
Ensure compliance with IS/ASTM/ASME standards, certifications, and statutory norms.
Maintain vendor performance database, procurement MIS, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Key Skills

Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracts & vendor management.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications across civil, and mechanical disciplines.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
Exposure to EPC / industrial projects preferred.
