Position Description

We are seeking an experienced CA7 Scheduling Analyst to support 24×7 mainframe operations. The role involves monitoring, scheduling, and supporting critical mainframe workloads, ensuring high availability, operational stability, and adherence to ITSM processes. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in mainframe batch scheduling, console monitoring, incident management, and cross-functional coordination in a global operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support 24×7 mainframe operations, ensuring high system availability and stability.
Perform Mainframe Batch Event Monitoring & Scheduling using CA7.
Handle online transaction failures, batch failures, and perform first-line issue analysis and closure.
Monitor and support Mainframe Consoles, identifying and resolving alerts as per documented procedures.
Perform system shutdowns and IPLs upon authorized requests.
Execute system maintenance activities as requested.
Manage and coordinate bridge calls during major incidents.
Ensure adherence to ITSM processes, including:
Event Management
Incident Management
Problem Management
Request Fulfillment
Knowledge Management
Acknowledge tickets, conduct quick triage, provide resolutions, and close tickets within defined SLAs.
Escalate issues to next-level support as per defined procedures within SLA timelines.
Analyze operational failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve system availability.
Identify system performance and operational issues and develop effective solutions.
Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders, including PDO, customers, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
Participate in daily stand-up meetings to discuss operational status and issues.
Review and analyze proposed system configuration changes and maintenance activities.
Focus on process adherence, continuous improvement, problem management, and knowledge documentation.
Support security, control processes, and audit requirements.
Assist in automation initiatives using JCL, REXX scripts, and RPA tools (Pega).
Coordinate with Console, z/OS, Storage, and PDO teams to optimize and fine-tune operational processes.
