Job description: Junior Visual Concept Designer (Experiential & Retail)

Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore

About The Gig

We are looking for a Junior Visual Concept Designer (Experiential & Retail) to support the development of visual concepts for retail environments and brand experiences. This role focuses on creating illustrations, concept sketches, and graphic design assets that communicate ideas across retail spaces, products, and experiential installations.

Working closely with the Retail Experience team, the designer will help translate ideas into visual narratives, presentation graphics, and conceptual design explorations. The role suits someone with an industrial design background who also has strong graphic design and illustration abilities, and an interest in developing merchandise and accessory concepts that support brand storytelling in retail environments.

What You’ll Do

Develop visual concepts, illustrations, and sketches for retail experience and brand environment projects.
Create graphic design assets and presentation visuals to support design storytelling.
Produce concept sketches and visual explorations for retail fixtures, experiential elements, and product concepts.
Support the development of merchandise concepts and sub-category accessory designs aligned with brand identity.
Assist the Retail Experience team with ideation, concept development, and visual communication.
Develop visual narratives, mood boards, and concept boards to communicate design direction.
Contribute to presentation materials and concept visuals for internal and client discussions.
Collaborate with designers to ensure visual concepts integrate effectively into retail environments, products, and brand experiences.

What You Bring

Degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
Strong skills in illustration, sketching, and visual storytelling.
Strong graphic design capability, including layout, typography, and composition.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
Ability to translate ideas quickly into sketches, diagrams, and visual concepts.
Strong creative thinking and conceptual development skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary design environment.

Portfolio Requirements

Candidates must submit a portfolio demonstrating:

Strong graphic design work, including layout, typography, and visual communication.
Exploration of multiple graphic design styles or visual approaches.
Illustration and concept sketches, both hand-drawn and digital.
Industrial design thinking such as product sketches, object studies, or concept explorations.
Work that reflects curiosity across graphics, products, and experiential design.
Any projects related to merchandise, accessories, or small product concepts are a strong advantage.
