Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategic Safety Leadership

  • Develop and implement structured safety strategies across Transmission projects and O&M sites.
  • Analyze safety performance trends and initiate corrective actions to minimize incidents.
  • Align safety budgets with operational priorities for cost-effective implementation.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and internal standards.
  • Conduct audits and ensure 100% closure of identified risks and non-conformities.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Integrate emergency response plans for crisis preparedness.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive Zero Harm & Zero Leak initiatives through proactive risk mitigation.
  • Ensure 100% PPE compliance and eliminate unsafe practices.
  • Conduct structured safety training and awareness campaigns (e.g., Safety Week, Fire Service Week).

Stakeholder & Contractor Management

  • Lead contractor safety programs and enforce protocol adherence.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay aligned with evolving safety norms.

Team Leadership

  • Mentor safety teams and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Enhance workforce engagement through awareness and participation in safety programs

Internal

  • Business Head

  • Contractors and Suppliers
  • Local Communities
  • Regulatory Authorities

Qualifications

Education: BE / Diploma / B.Sc. with PG Diploma in Industrial Safety

  • Experience: 10 – 12 years in fire and safety functions within large-scale power plants, including

transmission projects and O&M. Minimum 2 years in a corporate safety role in the transmission/power

sector.

  • Safety audits and inspections

  • Team mentoring and stakeholder engagement
