Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven marketing leader to head our India marketing function. The Head of Marketing – India will shape and execute the country’s short- and long-term marketing strategy with a strong focus on retail and trade excellence, portfolio growth, and digital expansion.
This is a senior leadership role partnering closely with the Country Head and cross-functional teams to drive sustainable growth, strengthen brand equity, and enhance customer engagement. Depending on experience and profile, we are open to hiring a high-potential candidate at a managerial level as well with a clear pathway to broader leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Growth
Develop and execute short- and long-term marketing strategies aligned with business objectivesProvide strategic direction on portfolio management, branding, positioning, and pricing Lead product launches and integrated marketing campaigns to drive growth and market share Identify new market opportunities, segments, and partnerships to expand the business Manage marketing investments to ensure strong ROI and commercial impact
Retail & Trade Marketing Excellence
Build and manage long-term partnerships with retail, wholesale, and modern trade customersDevelop and implement strategic key account frameworks and annual promotion plans Drive in-store excellence through visibility programs, merchandising, and activation campaigns Negotiate premium retail placements and oversee execution standards Collaborate closely with sales teams to ensure effective rollout of trade initiatives
Digital & Commercial Innovation
Partner with regional teams to expand digital and e-commerce marketing initiativesDrive CRM and loyalty programs to improve customer acquisition and retention Build commercial partnerships with digital health stakeholders
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop marketing team membersWork closely with sales, regional, and global stakeholders to ensure alignment Manage agency partnerships and ensure high-quality campaign execution Ensure compliance with regulatory standards across marketing activities
Candidate Profile
10–15 years of experience in strategic and operational marketing (flexible for exceptional high-potential candidates)Strong background in retail/trade marketing and digital expansion Experience in medical devices, consumer healthcare, or related regulated industries preferred Proven track record of driving brand growth and commercial results Strong financial acumen and experience managing marketing investments Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills MBA in Marketing required; science/pharmacy background is a plus Knowledge of diabetes care or related therapeutic categories is advantageous.
