Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Guest Service Associate (GSA) - Food & Beverage to join our dynamic hospitality team in Mysuru, India. In this role, you will be the face of our F&B operations, delivering exceptional service experiences while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency. You will work collaboratively with our team to ensure every guest receives personalized, attentive service that exceeds expectations and creates memorable dining experiences.
- Greet all guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables with a friendly demeanor and genuine hospitality
- Perform opening and closing duties as assigned, including table setup according to established standards and procedures
- Inspect table settings, cleanliness, and side station preparation prior to service commencement to ensure excellence
- Deliver food and beverage services in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring prompt and accurate order fulfillment
- Serve food and beverages at the correct temperature and presentation, maintaining service excellence at all times
- Apply necessary precautions regarding hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) to ensure guest safety and compliance
- Remember individual guest names and preferences to provide personalized and attentive service that builds loyalty
- Actively up-sell and cross-sell food and beverage offerings to maximize revenue while remaining transparent about menu options and recommendations
- Clear and tidy tables promptly after guest departure, maintaining a clean and organized dining environment
- Collect and verify food and beverage supply requisitions, ensuring accuracy and proper stock management
- Handle cash and payment processing with accuracy and integrity, following established procedures
- Report any complaints, incidents, or irregularities to management in a timely and professional manner
- Assist other F&B outlets during peak times or as required, demonstrating flexibility and collaborative spirit
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all F&B services, menu contents, preparation methods, and hotel services
- Demonstrate proficiency in hotel fire and life safety/emergency procedures
- Attend all briefings, meetings, and training sessions as assigned by management
- Report for duty on time, wearing a clean and complete uniform, maintaining high standards of personal appearance and hygiene
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by hotel management
**Required Qualifications:**
- Service-focused personality with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in hotel operations or food and beverage service environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse guests
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP awareness)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and peak service times
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and move throughout extended shifts
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy service periods
- Positive attitude, resilience, and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Teamwork and collaborative mindset with willingness to support colleagues
- Guest service etiquette and professional dining service standards
- Basic cash handling and payment processing capabilities
- Conflict resolution abilities and empathetic approach to guest concerns
- Adaptability to diverse guest demographics and service scenarios
- Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, or related field
- Previous experience in upscale or fine dining establishments
- Multilingual abilities, particularly regional language proficiency
- Certification in food safety and hygiene standards
- Knowledge of hotel operations and guest service systems
- Problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest concerns with empathy and decisiveness
- Experience with beverage service standards and wine/cocktail knowledge
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and hospitality management software
