ETL Tester

ETL Tester is responsible for validating the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data as it moves through the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process

They ensure that data integration workflows and pipelines meet business and technical requirements through rigorous testing and quality assurance practices

ETL Testers play a critical role in maintaining data integrity in data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics environments.

Analyze business requirements and data mapping documents to design test cases for ETL processes.

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for validating data extraction, transformation, and loading.

Perform source-to-target data validation and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy.

Conduct data quality checks, data profiling, and exception handling to identify inconsistencies.

Validate ETL performance, data volume, and scalability under various conditions.

Work closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to identify issues and drive resolution.

Log, track, and manage defects using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)

Skill

Experience with ETL testing in data warehousing environments.

Proficiency in SQL for complex data queries, joins, and validation

Familiarity with ETL tools such

Strong understanding of data modeling, database concepts, and relational databases

Experience with test management and defect tracking tools..
