Electronic Design Support Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Electronic Design Support Engineer to join the Design Support Team and provide engineering support for the production of RF and dual-mode (RF/IR) seeker products.

This role performs the duties of providing technical design support to manufacturing, resolving production issues, and ensuring seamless transition of products from development to series manufacture, reporting to the Senior Design Support Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a design team representative to interface with both design and manufacturing teams during the transition of seeker products from development into series manufacture
• Work with manufacturing to resolve process and capability issues and support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise production yields
• Support non-conformance management, providing guidance on design queries and advising on non-conformances where appropriate
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and smooth production operations
• Provide recommendations to the design team on obsolescence management and product lifecycle considerations
• Maintain production schedules and support project changes in a timely manner

The ideal candidate would have:

• Broad-based electronics engineering experience
• Practical knowledge of RF assembly, test procedures, and manufacturing processes
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving production and process issues
• Ability to work across multiple projects while maintaining delivery schedules
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams

The ideal candidate must have:

• Initiative and determination to investigate and resolve technical and production problems
• Ability to manage their own workload independently
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Confidence to make engineering recommendations that impact production and product quality
