Position Overview
The Director of Finance is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing and continuously improving financial operations at Opiniion. Reporting directly to the COO, this role partners closely with executive leadership to help shape financial strategy, drive long-term planning, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial processes. The Director of Finance leads forecasting and financial intelligence, manages the company's financial systems infrastructure, and works closely with the accounting function to ensure operational excellence. This position also collaborates cross-functionally with RevOps, GTM, and Business Intelligence teams to connect financial performance to operational outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong SaaS financial expertise, an AI-forward mindset, and a bias toward building scalable, automated systems and teams that support rapid growth.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
150,000 - 190,000 USD per year(Lehi Headquarters)

Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and continuously improve financial operations, including forecasting, expense management, and financial planning.
- Own and continuously evolve Opiniion's financial operating model, long-term planning, and scenario modeling.
- Partner with the COO on annual and multi-year strategic planning, operating plans, and budget cycles.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing financial insights that influence cross-functional decision-making.
- Work closely with the accounting function to ensure accuracy and timeliness across AP, AR, monthly close, and financial reporting.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages—including management reporting, board decks, and investor reporting.
- Develop, refine, and maintain forecasting models for revenue, expenses, cash flow, and headcount.
- Establish and maintain company-wide financial KPIs; partner with functional leaders to track, forecast, and optimize performance drivers.
- Collaborate closely with the BI function to align financial data with operational and product data, creating a unified intelligence layer across the business.
- Drive the development and delivery of backward-looking and forward-looking insights that enable faster, better decisions across the organization.
- Leverage Opiniion's recent investments in its data infrastructure and modern data stack (including Databricks) to unlock major advances in business and product intelligence.
- Champion the use of AI and automation to accelerate insight delivery, reduce manual reporting, and surface emerging trends and anomalies.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation across finance processes, leveraging AI-forward solutions where appropriate.
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and treasury operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition, billing, and compliance with GAAP and financial regulations.
- Serve as owner of the financial systems tech stack, including NetSuite, Tesorio, Ramp, and related integrations.
- Play a key role in partnering with RevOps, Sales, CX, Marketing, and Product to model go-to-market performance, product profitability, pricing, and customer economics.
- Partner with BI, GTM, and RevOps to build automated, scalable insights that connect financial outcomes to pipeline, retention, and expansion metrics.
- Support contract review, pricing strategy, vendor negotiations, and financial due diligence for strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team and outsourced controller.
- Recruit, develop, and scale a high-performing Finance organization aligned with company growth.
- Build a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward ownership, continuous innovation, and proactively improving systems, processes, and team performance.
- AI-forward thinker and executor—demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and implement AI and automation tools to improve financial operations, reporting, and decision-making.
- Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS environment strongly preferred.
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, financial modeling, and board/investor reporting.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics (NRR, GRR, CAC, LTV, payback, cohort analysis), revenue recognition, and subscription billing.
- Experience working closely with BI/analytics functions; familiarity with Databricks and modern data stacks is a plus.
- Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot and RevOps financial partnership considered a strong plus.
