The Marketing Communications team within Hearst’s Corporate Communications group has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, resourceful coordinator based in New York City. This role assists in the development and distribution of internal communications that keep Hearst colleagues informed and engaged with company news, as well as external communications that showcase the company’s business accomplishments and values.
We’re looking for an organized candidate with excellent follow-through, attention to detail and a clear and confident communication style who is eager to be part of a collaborative team that works across many parts of the organization.
This role supports primary communications channels including the corporate website (Hearst.com), the intranet (MyHEARST), a street-level news and entertainment installation (HearstLive), and Hearstlink, a 24,000-readership daily newsletter (Hearstlink signup). The coordinator assists in ensuring consistency in messaging, tone and style across these channels and in other employee communications. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Marketing Communications and is in-person at Hearst Tower in midtown Manhattan four days a week.

What You’ll Do:
- Source timely, relevant content for the Hearstlink newsletter, building the newsletter in a Sailthru template, soliciting team input, coordinating executive approval and distributing it Monday through Friday
- Source and work with the Creative team to develop digital content for the HearstLive screens at street level in Hearst Tower. Topic areas include news from Hearst brands, new initiatives, employee spotlights, special events, etc.
- Review and traffic internal corporate newsletters through the approval and send process; draft content and share post-send analytics
- Proofread short-form copy following the Hearst style guide
- Conduct ad hoc research, peer set audits and light data analysis to inform engagement tactics
- Manage digital content displayed on elevator screens in Hearst Tower; training will be provided
- Update content on Hearst’s intranet (MyHEARST) and external website (Hearst.com) using the Liferay content management system (CMS), including formatting, content QA, metadata, accessibility checks as well as conducting audits of existing content as needed; training will be provided
- Monitor Hearst feedback inboxes and compile a weekly status report
- Integrate approved generative AI tools to support tasks such as drafting, summarization and basic analysis
- Use Sailthru to manage email distribution lists and send targeted internal e-blasts
- Use Airtable to manage project content workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English, or relevant equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of experience in communications or marketing
- Strong writing skills, including proofreading and copy editing
- Ability to stay organized, manage priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to synthesize information and create accessible, on-brand marketing copy and more
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT)
- Interest in or experience with basic data analysis, such as reviewing performance metrics, identifying patterns and summarizing insights to inform content decisions
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team setting
