About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Canal Design Engineer who can independently handle canal design and DPR preparation for large-scale irrigation projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, ownership, and the ability to deliver end-to-end design outputs.

 Key Responsibilities

• Independently design:
• Main Canal, Branch Canal, Distributaries, Minors & Sub-minors
• Cross Drainage (CD) Works, Outlets, Regulators
• Perform hydraulic design calculations/cut-off statements:
• Discharge, velocity, slope, section design
• Canal lining and stability analysis
• Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs):
• Design basis reports
• BOQs, cost estimates
• Technical specifications
• Develop detailed engineering drawings:
• Layouts, L-sections, cross-sections
• Structural drawings for canal structures
• Ensure compliance with:
• IS Codes, WRD guidelines, and project specifications
• Coordinate with:
• Survey teams for alignment finalization
• GIS and field teams for data validation
• Support tendering & execution teams with design inputs

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of canal hydraulics/cut-off statements & irrigation engineering
• Hands-on experience in DPR preparation
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD / Civil 3D
• MS Excel (hydraulic calculations)
• Ability to work independently on complete design packages

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Experience in irrigation / water resource projects is mandatory

Preferred (Good to Have)

• Experience in pressurized pipe irrigation systems
• Exposure to WRD / PMKSY / Lift Irrigation Projects
• Knowledge of ArcGIS tools, WaterGems
