Backend Engineer

We are looking for backend engineers to join our tech team based in Kolkata. This role sits at the core of revenue infrastructure — covering payment orchestration, subscription lifecycle, and high-scale backend systems.

You won’t maintain systems. You’ll design, ship, and scale them. Every deployment impacts millions of users and real revenue.

What You’ll Own + Key Responsibilities :

• Build and scale backend services using Node.js (MERN) and GoLang for payments, subscriptions, and user entitlements.
• Integrate and orchestrate payment gateways (Stripe, Razorpay, etc.)
• Design webhook systems handling retries, duplicates, and failures.
• Optimize MongoDB queries and Redis caching for high-traffic flows.
• Architect systems for concurrency, latency, and transaction scale (Node + Go services)
• Implement reconciliation, settlement tracking, and payment analytics.
• Own production reliability, proactively unblock issues, and drive fixes without waiting for assignments.

Must-Have Experience + AI-Native Engineering :

• 1–4+ years backend experience with Node.js (MERN stack) in production.
• Working experience with GoLang for backend services, APIs, or performance-critical systems.
• Strong TypeScript experience with strict typing enforcement (preferred).
• Hands-on payment gateway integrations (Stripe / Razorpay / Juspay).
• Experience handling webhooks, async events, and idempotent payment flows.
• Proven MongoDB schema design and query optimization at scale.
• AI-native developer: uses Copilot / Cursor / Claude Code, reviews and refactors AI-generated code critically.
• Strong async communication; takes ownership, asks early questions, and pair-programs when needed.
