Software Development Engineer – Backend

Location: Gurgaon (On-site)

The Role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who enjoys building scalable systems.

You will design and develop the core backend infrastructure that powers our fintech platform — from high-performance APIs to AI-enabled workflows.

This is a high-ownership role where you will work closely with product, AI/ML, and frontend teams to build reliable and scalable backend systems.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

• Build scalable and reliable backend systems and APIs
• Own backend services end-to-end from design to production support
• Enable AI-driven product capabilities through backend services
• Ensure performance, security, and scalability of backend systems
• Collaborate closely with frontend, AI, and product teams

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build high-performance APIs using FastAPI
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for frontend applications
• Integrate AI-driven workflows and backend orchestration
• Implement authentication, authorization, and RBAC
• Manage asynchronous processing and background task execution
• Design backend architecture with scalability and fault tolerance
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
• Implement unit and integration tests
• Deploy and manage backend services on AWS
• Monitor production systems and resolve performance issues
• Participate in system design discussions and code reviews

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python backend development
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI
• Experience designing and building REST APIs
• Good understanding of asynchronous programming
• Experience integrating AI/ML workflows or intelligent automation
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services
• Experience writing unit and integration tests
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile teams
