Job Description

Position Purpose

To ensure the textile mills operations fully comply with applicable labor laws, buyer codes of conduct, and environmental, health, and safety standards, while supporting audits, maintaining compliance documentation, and driving continuous improvement in ethical and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Role & Responsibilities

Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits (SMETA, BSCI, SA8000, WRAP, Higg FEM/FSLM, buyer-specific audits).
Maintain audit documentation, records, and corrective action plans (CAPs).
Follow up on audit findings and ensure timely closure of non-compliances.
Coordinate with buyers, auditors, and third-party agencies for ZDHC WW testing and incheck verification.
Ensure implementation of health and safety standards on the shop floor.
Support compliance with environmental norms (waste, water, chemicals, emissions).
Maintain compliance-related records, policies, and procedures.
Update compliance data on buyer portals (e.g., Higg Index, Target Inspectorio, ZDHC STZ, Sedex, H&M Step etc).
Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Support sustainability and ESG initiatives.

Work closely with Engineering, production, IR and management to improve compliance culture.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Required Educational Qualification: Bachelor degree (Environmental Science, or related field preferred).
Number of Years of Experience: 1 to 3 year
Professional Exposure: Environment, social & statutory compliance within textile manufacturing
Preferred Companies: Textile and apparel manufacturing
