Job Description
Location: Based in New Delhi at the UKIBC - University of Essex regional office.
Contract: Full-time, hosted via UK India Business Council for client University of Essex, United Kingdom.
Experience: 1-2 years of relevant Higher Education recruitment industry experience.
Hours: A minimum of 45 hours per week with requirement to work evenings and some weekends during peak times and for fairs, with approximately 20 weeks travel a year

Reporting structure:
The role will report to the Director - Indian Subcontinent Region and sits within the Communications and External Relations Directorate. Candidate is employed by UK India Business Council for client University of Essex, UK.
Purpose of the role:
This role will support operations management for the India office including, student recruitment and stakeholder activity in India & help to develop our overall strategic approach to the region.
Primary areas of focus will be: Supporting the UKIBC Essex India team of Recruitment Officers based across various offices, helping the University achieve student recruitment targets; developing and maintaining relationships with key partners including Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), sponsors and education agents; supporting our alumni relations programme; and raising the University’s profile in the region.
The Indian Subcontinent Regional Office forms a part of our network of five regional offices around the world. The Regional Offices are a part of the University’s Communications and External Relations Section (CER), which is responsible for:
▪ Student recruitment
▪ Marketing
▪ Admissions and Compliance
▪ Alumni relations
▪ Communications and stakeholder engagement
Duties of the post:
The main duties of the post will include:
1) Supporting the University’s India student recruitment plan, including:
- Creating regional marketing and recruitment plans that directly feed into and support recruitment targets.
- Using internal and external data to inform activity and resource planning.
- Providing market analysis and specialist knowledge that help inform the University’s work and investment in the region.
2) Working with our partners - Universities and Agents, to investigate opportunities for future development of our presence in the region.
- Taking a pro-active approach to agent and partner management including helping to expand the University’s portfolio.
- Undertaking a multi-channel approach to recruitment to include schools, sponsors, local HEIs, agents and the direct channel.
3) Supporting marketing and events/stakeholder engagement activity, as required, including:
- Working with the University’s marketing teams to ensure a consistency of approach to branding, messaging and campaign development while ensuring relevance to local audiences.
- Helping to deliver and support networking events and PR activities.
4) Supporting our alumni relations strategy within the region:
- Helping to identify alumni in key positions that may be of interest to the University
- Occasionally organising and hosting alumni events.
- Maintaining relationships with current students from the region and working with India focused student societies at the University to build deeper understanding of the student experience.
The post will involve domestic and international travel. The post-holder will have to demonstrate considerable initiative as they will be expected to represent the University at a range of events throughout the duration of their contract.
