Job Purpose- To ensure reliable operation of stationary and rotary mechanical equipment through effective planning, execution, condition monitoring, and spare management. Also responsible for implementing safety systems to ensure safe working conditions for contractor personnel.

Responsibilities

Quality Management System

  • Contribute to annual maintenance planning and budgeting.
  • Optimize resource utilization and coordinate with departments/vendors.
  • Plan daily maintenance and preventive jobs.
  • Verify contractor bills and measurements.
  • Execute Management of Change (MOC) jobs.


Systems, Policies & Procedures

  • Support development of systems for reliability and cost optimization.
  • Ensure SAP-based job execution and performance tracking.
  • Promote optimal equipment operation and resource use.
  • Ensure statutory and legal compliance.


Management & MIS

  • Review Maintenance Notification and take corrective / preventive actions.
  • Provide inputs for departmental decision-making and MIS reporting.
  • Address grievances and ensure policy compliance.


Team Management

  • Align team capabilities with departmental goals.
  • Promote SPIRIT tenets for team cohesion and performance.


Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS)

  • Ensure safe working conditions across plant areas.
  • Enforce PPE compliance and conduct toolbox talks.
  • Promote safety awareness and ensure training compliance.


Environment and Energy Management System

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001:2018 standards.
  • Monitor significant energy uses and performance indicators under EnMS.
  • Maintain awareness of Energy Management System (EnMS) policies.


Process Safety Management (PSM)

  • Apply PSM principles related to mechanical integrity and asset reliability.
  • Lead or participate in RCA, Process Near Miss and incident investigations.
  • Ensure contract management procedures and compliance


Qualifications

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

BE, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years Of Experience

For BE 3–10 years and for Diploma 5-12 years in maintenance and planning within Oil Refinery, Petrochemical, Fertilizer sectors, Power Plant or Heavy Chemical Industry.

Experience in plant maintenance
