Job Description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager – Data Support who will play a critical role in supporting the Lead – Data Support in managing reporting workflows, data analysis activities, and daily operational deliverables. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in MIS/Reporting, excellent analytical abilities, and the capability to handle daily issue resolution while guiding analysts with best practice.

Role

Manage the end-to-end reporting processes, including data extraction, transformation, and presentation.
Ensure overnight MIS jobs, and dashboards run successfully; troubleshoot failures in SQL/Python.
Distribute workload across 4–6 analysts, set priorities, and monitor SLA adherence.
Interact with different teams (sales, risk, operations, credit, audit, product, etc.) – clarify requests.
Decide which requests need immediate delivery, which can be automated, and which should be declined/redirected.
Effective management of business-critical support requests during late evenings / early mornings / holidays (beyond working hours)
Hands-on debugging when issues arise in Python scripts, SQL queries, or dashboards.

Qualification & experience

Bachelor's degree (Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, quant or related field but not mandatory).
4-6 years of relevant work experience in automated reporting and MIS

Essential skills

Proficiency in SQL for querying and extracting data.
Strong experience in Python for data processing and automation.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to fix issues related to data and reports.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with functional leads.
Prior exposure to tech/data support in odd working hours.
Strong project management and process optimisation mindset.
Prior experience of working in BFSI/NBFC/Lending industry is plus.
Knowledge of regulatory reporting and compliance is plus.
Knowledge of BI tools (Tableau / Power BI) is plus.
